• Cherry: Cherry wood provides a beautiful, lightweight and durable paddle. Unique, because it tans and darkens with sun exposure. It's our number one seller. 
• Maple: Similar to cherry in weight, and slightly more durable. Maple has a beautiful light colour to it. 
• Ash: Renowned for its durability, ash is our heaviest wood. However, it has a beautiful open grain with a yellow color. Ash only comes in a varnish finish due to its open grain. 
• Walnut: With its deep, luxurious hues and striking grain patterns, walnut is both elegant and robust, making it a standout choice. Typically slightly heavier than maple but lighter than ash.

The easiest way to find your perfect fishell paddle size is to measure from floor to nose. We are aiming to get you a paddle where the top of the grip lands between your chin and nose.

Look, you're already shopping for an ottertail canoe paddle so you probably do a J-Stroke. The Leather wrap is designed to protect your paddle and your canoe from the bad habit of prying off the gunale when finishing your J-Stroke. If you don't have this habit, then there is no need for the leather wrap.
